Bouncing Ball

For this assignment I decided that I wanted my ball to be shot out of a cannon. First I realized that I had too many frames, which made the startup slower than I wanted. By removing some of the frames I was able to make the ball shoot out much faster. I used a guide for every time the ball hit the obstacles, as well as a guide for the floor once the ball starts rolling. It got very tedious towards the end because I wanted the ball to roll to a stop. I wish I could have filled out some of the space in the background, other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with it!

Dialogue

I very much enjoyed this project even though there was a lot of different elements I had to focus on. I wanted the character to be very smug and confident, which I tried to achieve mostly through the facial expressions. To make things easier I set keyframes for the more dramatic head and body movements. That way it was easier for me to work towards a certain position in every frame. I tried making the eyes looking in two directions; to the side and forwards, that is to indicate that he has two targets. The most challenging part was getting his hands out of his pockets without it happening too fast. To make it look better I worked a lot with the shoulders and moving the arms further out on each frame. Overall, I'm happy with the way it came out!

Wrecking Ball

I enjoyed this assignment even though it was a little tedious. The work got tedious when I got to the point of making the wrecking ball swing back and forwards until it came to it's stop. I decided to do a wrecking ball because I thought the weight would make the swinging a little different compared to just a pendulum. Since a wrecking ball is heavy I wanted the weight to reflect in the swinging, which means I had to add more frames towards the ends. I added the chain because I thought the wrecking ball would seem heavier with the chain not curving very much. It definitely came out better than I thought!

Weight

For this project I decided to do a stick figure man struggle to lift off a couple of books from a table. Making a reference video in class really helped with understanding the way the body moves from beginning to end of lifting a heavy object. I tried to focus mostly on the legs bending and having him taking a few steps back from the impact of the weight. I also made sure to put the books in a separate layer as I wanted them to make some sort of movement by themselves. My original idea was to have him fall all the way back with the books falling over him, however, I decided on a more settle ending.
